Summary:
 
The 19th annual Connecticut Future Teachers Conference will take place March 24 at Central Connecticut State University.
 
The conference, meant to encourage middle and high school students to become teachers, is sponsored by the Regional Education Service Center Minority Teacher Recruiting Alliance and Central Connecticut State University’s School of Education and Professional Studies. CREC is part of the alliance and is helping to organize the event.   
 
About 300 students in grades five through 12 will participate in the conference. They are from several school districts throughout Connecticut.
 
During the conference, students will attend workshops, and they will participate in a writing contest. Sam Galloway, the human resources director for Bristol Public Schools, will be the keynote speaker.
 
Members of the media are welcome to attend this conference.
