The vision of the CREC School Counseling Program is to deliver a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate counseling program that addresses the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students.  Through collaboration, advocacy, and leadership, school counselors support equitable access and opportunity relative to college/career readiness, personal/social development, and academic advising.

Program Overview

Secondary,
Grades 6-12

School Counseling at CREC Magnet Schools is dynamic and comprehensive. The mission of school counseling at CREC Magnet Schools is to promote developmentally appropriate social, emotional, academic, and career growth for all students. School Counselors help students to make healthy choices, build resilience, acquire a sense of personal and civic responsibility, and to develop the tangible skills and intangible character traits necessary to realize their individual goals. School Counselors support access and equity for all learners and encourage collaboration across and within our schools and community. Counselors help students work toward educational, personal/social development and career goals. Students may discuss any concerns they have about life, explore interests, reflect upon current responsibilities, develop strategies to become more effective personally and socially. School Counselors will work with students, their families, faculty members, administration and community leaders in order to maximize the opportunities available to students in CREC Magnet Schools.
